what to do without friends

I have attended so many music recitals and am about to resume my
record-setting attempts. It's great to be invited to a few recitals in
one week. Not just a casual hey, but a real I'd like to see you there if
you're free sort of invitation.

Other friends know just what I need. Take racquetball as a case in
point. It's way too late at night. The game is too aggressive and the
court is too crowded (doubles). But all of that gets me excited once I
am down in the court and playing.

Thanks for knowing what's best for me.

Mr. Todd

Indeed, there was something foul about Fleet Street in London some years
ago. That story was retold with such a vigour last night.

Ah, the symbolism of a red light cast across the stage. I felt
anticipation for it. There are two sides to this feeling. First, I did
feel. Beyond deducing what was taking place I /felt/ what was taking
place. Second, I could feel the mood of every other person in the
audience--I felt their anticipation.

Amazing.

And smooth as a baby's ass.

Thomas Collins
You scored 31% creativity, 60% monogamy, 28% conformity, and 54% optimism!
You're Collins! You have a great outlook on life, staying cool in the
face of struggle and even tragedies. It's likely that your life has been
difficult, but you're okay with that. You've learned that the way to get
through it is just to keep going. Your friends love to be around you
because you make everyone feel good. Not only are you cherished by your
friends, but also by your lovers -- and you value them in return. It's
likely that you're a bit of a sap when it comes to romance.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age
and gender:

You scored higher than 6% on creativity

You scored higher than 46% on monogamy

You scored higher than 33% on conformity

You scored higher than 46% on optimism

Pure Nerd
65 % Nerd, 8% Geek, 34% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or
subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social
expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally
smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up
all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer.
Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so
as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced
with the following label: Purely Successful.

Congratulations!

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age
and gender:

You scored higher than 68% on nerdiness

You scored higher than 3% on geekosity

You scored higher than 59% on dork points

movie night = swim night

Lots of fun handling the camera again. Working with these great people,
mostly media students, is incredible. Every outing I learn something
about both myself and them, and have a good time at it.

What to do about my camera dilemma? I want to replace before I am without.

There is huge choice. Moving picture or still. Pocket sized or full. I'm
leaning right into the middle. Since I need neither HD video nor 4MB
jpegs, I think true rangefinder or a video camera with 2MB stills might
suit me well.

I should play with video. Time to sign up for some more training

absence of music

I'm looking forward to a week or two of musical overload. The past few
weeks I have kept myself busy, in good ways, but away from those
recitals which I enjoy so much.

First, I can have fun late at night. Carousel showed that I can interact
with others so late in the day. /The Queens/ was so well done that I
stayed awake. (Background: I was falling asleep while walking outside to
the show.) And a couple of longer walks yesterday got me some much
needed fresh air.

Second, I can interact with complete strangers. Yesterday afternoon I
was in just the right mood and was quite comfortable approaching
persons. Now, where did that mood just go? And how did I get there in
the first place? If nothing else, my self-confidence got a boost.

Third, I became self-conscious again in dance class. Funny thing is I
knew what we were doing... save a couple of transitions from early on in
the routine. And two transitions out of 3.5 minutes is a good ratio for
me in a group routine.

Fourth, it's time to learn something about the music scene. Not around
drunks at night, but the industry which pumps out what they are
listening to.

going for an evening stroll

It has been a while since I took a stroll at night. Sure I had a
destination, but I could have taken the bus or waited until tomorrow
when my libraries materials came due.

Instead I took a walk. The fresh air was wonderfully refreshing. I
should try to relax more often.

another week

So I learned yesterday that there are conferences held during conference
aka reading aka slack aka spring break week. I only got to read a
display on occupational health and safety. It described the way business
has changed through the protection of unions and legislation.

I miss my bicycle.

Snow snow go away.
Come again another day.
When it is a colder day
To keep the slush away, away.
